Ghaziabad District Recognizes Top Performing Election Officers
The Ghaziabad district administration has publicly honored booth-level officers who demonstrated exceptional performance during the Special Intensive Revision exercise. In the first phase of recognition, ten BLOs received performance-based financial incentives for their outstanding work in voter registration and digitization processes.
Cash Rewards and Recognition for Excellence
Pooja Rani from assembly constituency 56 (Sadar) emerged as the top performer, receiving Rs 10,000 as she became the first officer to complete 100% digitization of enumeration forms. Nine other dedicated BLOs were awarded Rs 5,000 each for their remarkable contributions to the election revision drive.
The rewards, officially announced earlier this week, were presented during a ceremony held on Saturday. District election officer and district magistrate Ravindra Mander presided over the distribution event, acknowledging the hard work and dedication shown by these frontline election workers.
Speaking about her achievement, BLO Pooja Rani shared the challenges she faced during the process. "There were numerous obstacles, particularly when people would not return the forms after receiving them. I had to make five to six visits to some households just to retrieve the completed documents. I feel incredibly proud to receive this cash prize, and we have also been promised a two-night stay at a five-star hotel as additional recognition," Rani expressed with visible happiness.
Comprehensive Reward Structure for Top Performers
The administration has established a detailed reward system to motivate all booth-level officers across the district. Earlier this week, officials confirmed that the top two BLOs in each constituency will receive Rs 10,000 each, while those securing third, fourth, and fifth positions will be awarded Rs 5,000 each.
Beyond monetary incentives, the top five performers will also enjoy a special family lunch at a premium hotel, hosted personally by the electoral registration officer. This comprehensive approach to recognition aims to boost morale and encourage excellence in the crucial election preparation work.
District Magistrate Ravindra Mander provided insights into the technical processes underway. "We are systematically scanning every form that has been submitted, matching them with existing voter entries, and flagging any discrepancies. Simultaneously, we are standardizing all entries to ensure the final electoral roll is completely accurate and clean," Mander explained.
Progress Update and Public Appeal
As of Saturday, the digitization of enumeration forms, which represents the final stage in the Special Intensive Revision exercise, has reached approximately 37% completion across Ghaziabad district. Mander has instructed all teams to complete all pending uploads within the next few days to maintain the revision schedule.
The district magistrate made a sincere appeal to residents to cooperate fully with the election revision process. "Every eligible voter must return their counting form to avoid deletions or errors in the electoral records. Booth-level officers will be available at their respective booths on Sunday, and we urge people to come forward and submit their details promptly," Mander emphasized.
Addressing concerns about voters who haven't received their counting forms, the DM clarified that most such cases result from address-related issues. When voters change their residence or when the address printed on their EPIC card differs from their current location, BLOs often cannot locate them, leading to undelivered forms.
To resolve this problem, Mander directed voters to collect their forms directly from designated registration centers. Residents of Loni can obtain forms from the VRC in Loni, Modinagar Tehsil inhabitants can collect from the VRC in Modinagar, while people living in Sadar Tehsil, Sahibabad, Muradnagar, or Dhaulana areas can pick up their documents from the VRC in Sadar Tehsil.
Looking ahead, the DM outlined the plan for the upcoming phase. "All booth-level officers will be present at their assigned booths this Sunday. Anyone who hasn't submitted their counting form should visit their respective booth and hand over the completed document to ensure their voting rights are protected," Mander concluded.
