The prestigious JSW-TOI Earth Care Awards have officially launched their thirteenth edition, with JSW Group and The Times of India group jointly calling for applications from individuals and organizations dedicated to combating climate change through mitigation and adaptation efforts.
New Category Honors Climate Storytellers
This year's awards program introduces a significant addition to its recognition categories - Communicators for Climate Action. This new category aims to celebrate journalists, filmmakers, writers, and media professionals who utilize the power of storytelling to raise environmental awareness, inspire concrete action, and shape public understanding of climate challenges.
The awards emphasize that effective communication plays a vital role in driving collective climate action across society. By honoring impactful climate storytelling, the organizers seek to amplify voices that can mobilize communities and influence positive environmental behavior.
Rigorous Evaluation Process and Distinguished Jury
Interested applicants must submit their nominations through the official portal www.earthcareawards.com before the deadline of November 30. The selection process involves a thorough three-step evaluation system managed by knowledge partner Think Through Consulting.
The evaluation begins with initial screening of applications, followed by comprehensive on-site inspections of shortlisted projects. Finally, qualified projects will be presented to an eminent jury panel comprising national and international experts for final selection.
This year's distinguished jury includes Ajay Mathur, professor at IIT Delhi and former DG of International Solar Alliance; Arunabha Ghosh, CEO of CEEW; Soumya Swaminathan, chairperson of MSSRF; Rajat Gupta from McKinsey & Company; Shloka Nath, CEO of India Climate Collaborative; and Jens Nielsen, CEO of World Climate Foundation.
Expanding Recognition for Diverse Climate Efforts
Over recent editions, the JSW-TOI Earth Care Awards have significantly broadened their scope by introducing multiple new categories. Besides the new Communicators for Climate Action category, recent additions include Young Climate Champion and Women Leaders in Climate Action.
These new categories complement the existing awards that recognize Community-Led Climate Action, Institutional Leadership in Urban Climate Action, Emerging Businesses in Climate Action, and Green Business Titan. This comprehensive approach ensures diverse sustainability efforts across India receive appropriate recognition, celebrating excellence in climate action through innovation, inclusivity, and measurable impact.
