Oscars 2024 Announces Final Presenter Lineup with Major Star Power
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed an impressive final list of presenters for the 98th annual Academy Awards, set to take place this Sunday. This announcement adds to the already star-studded roster, promising viewers an unforgettable evening of Hollywood glamour and surprise appearances.
Star-Studded Presenter Additions
On Thursday, the Academy confirmed several high-profile additions to the presenter lineup. The list includes father-son duo Bill Pullman and Lewis Pullman, marking a special family moment at the prestigious ceremony. Former Moulin Rouge! co-stars Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor will reunite on the Oscars stage, joined by nominees Rose Byrne, Wagner Moura, and Delroy Lindo.
Other notable presenters include former Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel, along with Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum, and Sigourney Weaver. The lineup also features last year's best actor winners Adrien Brody and Mikey Madison, supporting actor winners Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldana, plus Javier Bardem, Maya Rudolph, Chase Infiniti, Demi Moore, Kumail Nanjiani, Anne Hathaway, Will Arnett, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Paul Mescal.
Epic Reunions Promised
Showrunner and executive producer Raj Kapoor described the presenter list as "jaw-dropping" and promised numerous surprises throughout the evening. "There will be plenty of surprises throughout the evening, including reunions and some appearances by people who haven't been on the stage in a long time," Kapoor stated.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, telecast executive producer Katy Mullan confirmed that a Bridesmaids reunion will occur during the ceremony. More excitingly, Mullan teased an epic Marvel reunion for superhero fans. "There's also going to be a Marvel reunion for the superhero fans. So we're gonna have superstar superheroes, and there is also going to be an extraterrestrial on the stage. So you can figure that one out," she revealed.
Several Marvel Cinematic Universe stars have already been confirmed as presenters, including Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Zoe Saldana, and Gwyneth Paltrow, suggesting the potential for memorable on-stage moments.
Special In Memoriam Segment
This year's In Memoriam segment will pay tribute to numerous beloved figures from the film world who passed away over the past year. The list includes Robert Redford, Diane Keaton, Rob Reiner, Catherine O'Hara, Robert Duvall, Val Kilmer, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, James Van Der Beek, and Claudia Cardinale, among others.
"It has been a really, really tough year this year, so the In Memoriam has been something we've been talking about for many, many months," Mullan told THR. Academy CEO Bill Kramer emphasized the segment's importance, stating, "Obviously we're paying special attention to the in memoriam this year. It's going to be robust and beautiful and very, very moving. We won't give away any secrets. You'll have to tune in."
Rumors suggest Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal might join forces to honor Rob Reiner, though organizers have neither confirmed nor denied this possibility. As always, a longer version of the In Memoriam will be available online to recognize individuals who might not make the broadcast cut.
