P Kesavadev Awards 2026 Winners Announced

The P Kesavadev Trust has announced the winners of the 22nd P Kesavadev Awards for the year 2026. These awards, established in memory of the eminent writer and social reformer P Kesavadev, honor outstanding achievements in literature and public service.

P Kesavadev Literary Award

The P Kesavadev Literary Award for 2026 has been conferred upon Subhash Chandran, a distinguished novelist, short story writer, and journalist. He is being recognized for his exceptional contributions to Malayalam literature. Chandran is a recipient of both the Central and Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards. He is widely acclaimed for his notable works, including Manushyanu Oru Aamukham, Samudrashila, and Ghadikaarangal Nilaykkunna Samayam.

P Kesavadev Diabscreen Kerala Award

The P Kesavadev Diabscreen Kerala Award has been awarded to Dr. Thankam Subrahmanyan, a renowned physician, for her extraordinary act of donating a kidney to a stranger. The trust highlighted that this award acknowledges her selfless service and her efforts in promoting awareness about living organ donation.

Award Details

Both awards carry a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a sculpture designed by artist B D Dathan, and a citation. The awards will be presented by CM V D Satheesan at a ceremony scheduled to take place at Hilton Garden Inn on Wednesday.
