Tripura's TSECL Bags 2nd National Energy Award

Agartala's power utility has once again illuminated the national stage with its commitment to sustainability. The Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has been honoured with a prestigious national award for its exemplary work in energy conservation.

Tripura's Power Giant Shines on National Platform

In a significant achievement, TSECL secured the second position in the Group-5 category at this year's National Energy Conservation Awards. The ceremony, held in Delhi, saw the award being presented by none other than the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. This recognition follows the corporation's top rank in the Group-4 category last year, underscoring a consistent and dedicated push towards energy efficiency.

A Testament to Strategic Energy Management

The awards are organized by the Union Ministry of Power and are based on rigorous evaluations under the State Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI) 2025. Tripura's performance was particularly notable as it outperformed 11 other states and union territories, including Chandigarh, Meghalaya, and Sikkim, to clinch this honour.

Expressing immense pride in this accomplishment, State Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath stated that Tripura has firmly emerged on the national energy landscape. He emphasized that this award marks a significant milestone in the state's journey towards responsible power utilization and conservation.

Sustaining Momentum in Green Power

This back-to-back national recognition highlights Tripura's strategic and sustained efforts in sustainable power management. The awards validate the state's proactive policies and operational excellence in reducing energy waste and promoting efficient consumption patterns across sectors.

The achievement places Tripura among the leading states in India actively contributing to the nation's broader goals of energy security and environmental sustainability. It serves as a model for other states, demonstrating that focused initiatives in power conservation can yield remarkable national acclaim.
