Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan joined the Tata Mumbai Marathon for the very first time this Sunday. The actor ran through the city streets with thousands of other participants. He described the day as truly special and deeply inspiring for him personally.
Marathon Draws Massive Participation
The 21st edition of the Tata Mumbai Marathon attracted over 69,000 individuals this year. This included more than 65,000 runners on the ground and an additional 3,700 virtual participants. The event holds a World Athletics Gold Label Race recognition for 2026. It remains one of India's largest running competitions, drawing athletes from across the nation and internationally. Participants competed for a total prize pool of USD 389,524.
Aamir Khan Praises Marathon Spirit
Aamir Khan spoke with media representatives after his run. He expressed strong admiration for the overwhelming enthusiasm he witnessed throughout the event. The actor stated that the marathon's collective spirit left a profound impact on him.
"We are participating in it for the first time," Aamir said. "The enthusiasm we saw made me feel that we should come here every year. Mumbai and this marathon have an amazing spirit..."
His former wife Kiran Rao and daughter Ira Khan accompanied him during the marathon. They experienced the vibrant energy of Mumbai together with the running community.
