Abhishek Bachchan Intentionally Avoids Daughter Aaradhya's Film Opinions
Abhishek Bachchan, renowned for his daring roles on screen, has disclosed a personal policy regarding his performances: he deliberately steers clear of seeking feedback from his daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. Despite often being compared to his legendary father, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek has established a distinct career with numerous acclaimed roles. In a recent discussion, he explained the rationale behind keeping his daughter's views at bay.
Why Abhishek Refrains from Asking Aaradhya
During an interaction at IFP, Abhishek Bachchan was candid about his stance. "I will never ask her," he stated firmly. Elaborating on this decision, the actor expressed concern that knowing Aaradhya's honest thoughts could significantly influence his artistic methods. "I will let that thought remain in my head. Once she answers—whether she likes it or not—it's going to change and alter the way I approach my work. Out of duty, I don't ask her because maybe I'm not strong enough to hear what she has to say. I would rather live in the illusion of what she might want or not want," he admitted.
Children's Brutal Honesty in Modern Times
Abhishek also reflected on the communication style of today's younger generation, noting its refreshing yet challenging nature. "Children today are very confident and know exactly what they want. They're very good at communicating it. For people of my generation, it can sometimes be difficult to just listen, because they are brutally honest—and while they should be, it's not always what you want to hear," he observed. As a parent, he emphasized his desire to pursue projects based on personal belief without current influence from his daughter's opinions, though he acknowledged this might evolve over time.
Future Possibilities and Current Stance
While leaving a slight opening for the distant future, Abhishek maintained his current preference for ignorance. "God willing, if I'm around when she has her own children, I might ask her then. But as of now, I don't want to be influenced by what she thinks. I don't think I will ever ask," he asserted. With a smile, he added, "I'm sure she'll find an opportunity to tell me anyway, but I've never asked."
