Sanjay Raut's 'Op Wolf' Response

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday dismissed the so-called 'Op Tiger' strategy allegedly aimed at destabilizing his party, and announced a counter-strategy named 'Op Wolf'. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Raut asserted that all nine Lok Sabha members of the party are firmly united behind the leadership.

Of the nine MPs, five attended a crucial meeting in person: Arvind Sawant, Anil Desai, Rajabhau Waze, Sanjay Patil, and others. The meeting was convened to discuss recent political developments and to reaffirm loyalty to party chief Uddhav Thackeray.

Unity Among MPs

Raut emphasized that there is no dissent within the party ranks. 'Op Wolf is our answer to those trying to break us. Every MP is with the party,' he said. The term 'Op Wolf' symbolizes a pack hunting together, in contrast to 'Op Tiger', which Raut claimed was an attempt by rivals to poach Sena (UBT) lawmakers.

The political maneuvering comes amid speculation of cross-voting in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections and fears of defections. Raut's statement aims to quell any rumors of instability within the party.

  • Five MPs attended the meeting in person.
  • Others joined virtually or sent messages of support.
  • Raut warned against any 'Operation Tiger' style tactics.

Background: The term 'Op Tiger' has been used in Maharashtra politics to describe efforts to lure opposition MLAs or MPs. Raut's counter-narrative is intended to project strength and solidarity within the Shiv Sena (UBT) ahead of key electoral battles.
