South Korean actor Lee Jung Ha, who gained international fame through the hit series 'Moving', is set to temporarily step away from the entertainment industry to fulfill his national duty. The star will commence his mandatory military service in early 2026.
Official Enlistment Details Confirmed
According to an official statement released by his agency, Namoo Actors, on December 3 (Korea Standard Time), Lee Jung Ha has been formally accepted into the Marine Corps. The actor had applied to join the elite military division earlier this year and recently received his acceptance notice.
The agency confirmed that Lee Jung Ha will report to the Marine Corps Training Center on January 26, 2026. In line with standard procedure for enlistment days, Namoo Actors announced that there will be no public or private farewell event held for the actor. They respectfully requested fans to avoid the site to ensure privacy for all recruits and their families.
"As the site will be shared by many service members and their families, we kindly ask for fans' understanding," the agency stated. They also expressed deep gratitude for the continuous support shown to the actor and asked for warm encouragement until his return.
A Meteoric Rise to Stardom
Born in 1998, Lee Jung Ha began his career with the 2017 web drama 'Heart-Fluttering Warning'. He steadily built his portfolio with notable roles in popular television series including 'Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung', 'Run On', and 'Nevertheless'.
His career trajectory changed dramatically in 2023 with the Disney+ superhero series 'Moving'. His portrayal of the character Bongseok catapulted him to widespread recognition across Asia and beyond. Prior to his enlistment date, Lee Jung Ha continues to be busy with professional commitments. He is currently starring as elite engineering student Park Junghwan in the Coupang Play and Genie TV original series 'UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces'. The show airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM.
