Ahmedgarh Girl Pari Pandher Experiences Renewed Fame Post Dhurandhar 2 Role
Parveer Kaur Pandher, popularly known as Pari Pandher, has captured the spotlight once again, this time due to her performance in the highly anticipated spy thriller Dhurandhar The Revenge, the second installment in the series. Hailing from the quaint village of Umarpura near Ahmedgarh in Ludhiana district, her rising popularity has turned her into a local celebrity, with residents actively sharing moments with her on various social media platforms.
From Umarpura to the Silver Screen
Umarpura, a previously obscure hamlet often associated with its twin village Nathumajra, is now buzzing with pride over Pari's achievements. She portrayed Jasleen Kaur Rangi, the younger sister of lead character Jaskirat Singh Rangi, played by Ranveer Singh, in the Aditya Dhar-directed film. Her peasant family, led by father Harvinder Singh Pandher, resides near the Maa Raj Rajeshwari shrine on Saharanmajra Road, on the outskirts of the village.
The family recently declined media interactions due to a prior appointment for obtaining passports, indicating their busy schedule amidst Pari's newfound fame. Harvinder Singh mentioned that Pari was away with the Dhurandhar team, highlighting her involvement in promotional activities.
Social Media Frenzy and Humble Beginnings
Despite Pari's longstanding popularity as a singer among youth, her role in Dhurandhar 2 has amplified her recognition. Individuals and managers from establishments she has been associated with are now posting visuals with her, claiming closeness to her and her parents. However, her family has maintained a low profile, never boasting about her accomplishments on public forums.
The Pandher family credited Bunty Bains, a renowned lyricist and director, as Pari's mentor. He played a pivotal role in facilitating her audition with Dhar's team. In a social media post, Pari recounted the exhilarating moment when she and Bunty received the call for Dhurandhar, prompting them to drive immediately to the shoot location in their own vehicles instead of waiting for arranged transport.
Behind the Scenes: Character Transformation
In another social media update, Pari shared insights into her character's aging process for a scene towards the film's end. She revealed that to portray a 30-plus version of Jasleen Kaur Rangi, makeup artists added wrinkles, dark circles, and white hair while she was drying clothes on a terrace. Pari expressed her fondness for this detailed characterisation, which added depth to her performance.
This resurgence in fame underscores how regional talents from small towns like Ahmedgarh are making significant strides in Bollywood, inspiring local communities and reshaping narratives in the entertainment industry.
