Film Makers Clarify: AI Babies Only in Teaser, Not in 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai'
The production team behind the upcoming Bollywood film 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' has stepped forward to address widespread confusion and speculation regarding the use of artificial intelligence in their project. In an official statement, they clarified that while the teaser features AI-generated babies, the actual film contains no artificial intelligence elements whatsoever.
Teaser Sparks Online Debate and Speculation
The controversy began when the film's first look teaser was released, opening with two animated babies engaging in a conversation about their parents. These babies, created using artificial intelligence technology, discuss discovering that both their fathers share the same name—Jass, portrayed by lead actor Varun Dhawan.
This unconventional opening quickly captured audience attention, but not entirely in the way the makers anticipated. Instead of focusing on the film's premise, many viewers began speculating online about whether the entire movie would incorporate significant AI elements throughout its runtime.
Production Team's Official Clarification
According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, the production team moved swiftly to put these rumors to rest. A spokesperson explained: "It was purely a gimmick to get people talking about the film's premise. The makers wanted a quick, visually arresting way to set up the love triangle without revealing actual footage. AI babies were the pitch. It got greenlit for the teaser and stopped right there. There is no AI in the film."
The clarification emphasizes that the AI-generated babies served exclusively as a marketing tool—a creative device designed to generate buzz and conversation around the film's central conflict without disclosing substantial plot details or character interactions.
Teaser Content and Cast Details
The teaser itself offers brief glimpses of Varun Dhawan's character romancing both female leads—Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde—before the AI babies summarize the situation as a "double trouble love story." Sharing the teaser on his social media platforms, Varun Dhawan wrote: "#HaiJawaniTohIshqHonaHai a David Dhawan entertainer. First look out now! #redflag in cinemas on 22nd May 2026."
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast under the direction of veteran filmmaker David Dhawan. Notable cast members include:
- Mouni Roy
- Rohit Saraf
- Jimmy Shergill
- Chunky Panday
- Maniesh Paul
- Rajesh Kumar
- Kubbra Sait
Release Date Adjustment
In addition to addressing the AI controversy, the production has announced a slight adjustment to the film's release schedule. Originally slated for June 5, 2026, 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' will now hit theaters on May 22, 2026—a strategic move that advances the premiere by approximately two weeks.
This clarification from the makers serves to reassure audiences that while innovative marketing techniques may incorporate emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, the cinematic experience itself remains grounded in traditional filmmaking approaches with human performances at its core.
