Andy Cohen Fires Back at Sarah Michelle Gellar's 'RHOBH' Remarks
Television host Andy Cohen has launched a pointed critique against actress Sarah Michelle Gellar following her negative comments about the fifteenth season of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.' The conflict ignited when Gellar, famous for her role in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' publicly labeled the reality series as "boring," prompting a strong reaction from Cohen, who is closely associated with the franchise.
Cohen's Blunt Response on Radio Andy
During a recent episode of SiriusXM's 'Radio Andy,' Cohen did not mince words in addressing Gellar's stance. He expressed frustration, stating, "It's like, 'Sarah Michelle Gellar hates the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' with all this Radio Andy signage everywhere." Cohen emphasized his displeasure by adding, "And I go, 'You know what? Don't bring someone into my studio to trash my show. How about the door is locked when I leave? How's that?'"
He further advised Gellar to reconsider her social media posts, noting the prominent display of his name in the background. Cohen concluded his remarks by firmly asserting, "She wrong, by the way," referencing his role as a father to his children, Ben and Lucy.
Gellar's Original Criticism of the Show
Prior to Cohen's rebuttal, Gellar had openly shared her views during an appearance on Page Six Radio. When questioned about her enjoyment of the latest season, she responded with a straightforward "No," elaborating that she found it "boring." Despite praising certain cast members such as Rachel Zoe, Bozoma Saint John, Kathy Hilton, and Jennifer Tilly, Gellar expressed reservations about newcomer Amanda Frances.
She explained, "If you choose to go on this show, then you have to be ready to open yourself up and be honest. I feel like she missed that," highlighting her expectations for authenticity in reality television.
Gellar's Self-Assessment as a Potential Housewife
In a previous guest appearance on Cohen's 'Watch What Happens Live,' Gellar was asked if she would ever consider joining 'RHOBH.' She humorously deflected the idea, saying, "Have you not seen how boring I am?" Gellar described herself as polite and conflict-averse, suggesting she would be an uninteresting addition to the drama-filled series.
This exchange underscores the ongoing tension between the two celebrities, with Cohen defending his show's entertainment value while Gellar stands by her critical assessment. The feud highlights broader discussions about reality TV content and celebrity opinions in the entertainment industry.
