Atharva Karve and Sakshi Mahajan Announce Wedding Date
Atharva Karve, known for his roles in films like Harishchandrachi Factory and Balgandharva as a child artist, is getting married. He recently played young Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Ek Mahanayak – Dr BR Ambedkar. The actor will tie the knot with Marathi actress Sakshi Mahajan on February 6 in Pune.
Wedding Celebrations Planned Over Two Days
Atharva shared details about their wedding plans. He said the couple will celebrate pre-wedding rituals like mehendi, haldi, and a sangeet-cum-engagement ceremony. The main wedding will follow these events.
"We decided to keep the celebrations concise and meaningful," Atharva explained. "Considering our busy shooting schedules, spreading it over two days made perfect sense."
Love Blossomed on the Sets of Vithu Mauli
The couple first met while working on the Marathi television show Vithu Mauli in 2017. In the show, Sakshi played Atharva's wife. Their on-screen chemistry soon turned into real-life romance.
"That was where we first met," Atharva recalled. "It was also the first time I got married on screen. Mahesh Kothare, the producer, jokingly told me he had seen me grow up and was now giving me the chance to get married on television."
He added, "None of us imagined that the girl I was marrying on screen would one day become my wife in real life."
A Simple and Special Proposal
Atharva described his proposal to Sakshi as straightforward yet memorable. He met her at the airport with a small bouquet and a chocolate. Then he asked her to be in a relationship with him.
"She said yes immediately," he said happily. "Sakshi is a very talented actress with an amazing sense of humour. I am an introvert, and she is an extrovert. In our case, opposites truly attracted."
Bond Strengthened After the Show Ended
Many relationships that start on television sets fade once the show wraps up. But for Atharva and Sakshi, things were different. Their connection grew stronger after Vithu Mauli ended.
"We stood by each other through ups and downs," Atharva said. "Even during the lockdown, when she was in her hometown and I was in Pune, we stayed emotionally connected. We supported each other through everything."
