Avinash Tiwary Talks Arranged Marriage and New Film Role

Avinash Tiwary Reflects on Arranged Marriage Journey Amid New Film Promotion

Following his role in 'O’Romeo', actor Avinash Tiwary is gearing up for his next project, 'Ginny Weds Sunny 2', where he stars alongside Medha Shankr. The film, a spiritual sequel to the 2020 hit, explores the comedic and chaotic dynamics of an arranged marriage between a spirited Delhi girl and a reserved small-town boy, delving into family conflicts and post-wedding life.

Personal Insights on Arranged Marriage Pressures

In a recent interview with News18, Avinash Tiwary candidly shared his thoughts on arranged marriages, revealing that he believes his chance for such a union has passed. "Abb woh bhi nahi hogi because if I was supposed to have an arranged marriage, it would’ve happened by now," he stated. Over the years, his family introduced him to potential matches, but none led to marriage. He recalled one particular meeting arranged by his younger sister, where he spent three-and-a-half hours conversing with a woman. "At the end of the date, I dropped her home," he said, but the immediate family pressure to decide after just one meeting felt overwhelming.

Challenges in Decision-Making and Family Dynamics

Avinash explained that meeting someone once or even multiple times didn't feel sufficient for such a life-altering decision. "I can speak to anyone for three-and-a-half hours. I didn’t understand how to figure that someone’s the one by meeting them for even six-seven times," he added. He humorously noted that in his acting profession, interacting with many people makes it easy to have good conversations, but that doesn't translate to marriage compatibility. "Teen ghante kisi ke saath bhi achche nikal sakte hai (Three hours can be a good time with anyone). That’s why I couldn’t take a call about marrying her," he shared.

Family Pressure and Self-Imposed Deadlines

Reflecting on past experiences, Avinash revealed there was a phase 18 years ago when he wanted to get married, but his family considered him too young. "Abb bechaare bhugat rahe hai (The poor guy is suffering). That’s why I remain unmarried even now," he said. In recent years, his family has intermittently pressured him, leading to a humorous self-imposed deadline. "My mother calls me every day and tells me, 'Beta, iss saal karlo. Aath mahine reh gaya. Winter mein karlo.' I’ve promised her that I surely will get married and won’t let her die before that happens," he stated, setting a goal for the end of this year.
