Bollywood Singer B Praak Receives ₹10 Crore Extortion Demand from Lawrence Gang
Renowned Bollywood singer B Praak faces a serious security threat. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has demanded a massive ₹10 crore as extortion money from the popular artist. They issued a one-week ultimatum with a clear warning of dire consequences if the demand remains unmet.
Threatening Voice Message Sent to Close Aide
The threat arrived through a chilling voice message. Gangster Arju Bishnoi, an associate of the Lawrence gang, sent the message to B Praak's close aide and fellow Punjabi singer Dilnoor, also known as Bablu. In the audio clip, the caller explicitly identifies himself as Arju Bishnoi.
The voice message contained a direct threat: "Arju Bishnoi bol raha hoon… B Praak ko keh dena Rs 10 crore de de. Ek hafte ka time hai. 'Mill ke chalega toh theek', nahi toh chahe kisi bhi country mein chala jaaye — Mitti Mein Mila Denge. Fake call mat samajhna."
Immediate Police Complaint and Investigation
Dilnoor promptly filed a written complaint with the Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police. He expressed deep fear for his safety and the safety of his friend B Praak. Dilnoor stated he now feels too scared to leave his own home due to the genuine danger posed by this criminal gang.
He urgently requested police protection and demanded strict legal action against the perpetrators. Based on this formal complaint, the Punjab Police's Cyber Crime Branch in Mohali has launched a full investigation into the matter.
Details of the Threatening Call Sequence
According to the complaint filed by Dilnoor, the sequence of events began on January 5th. He received two missed calls from a foreign number with the country code 44 at 3:11 PM. He did not answer these calls.
The next day, on January 6th at 2:24 PM, Arju Bishnoi himself called. Sensing something was wrong, Dilnoor disconnected the call. Shortly after, the threatening WhatsApp voice message demanding the ₹10 crore ransom arrived.
Dilnoor emphasized in his police statement that both he and B Praak travel frequently for professional shoots and live performances. This makes them particularly vulnerable. He described the Lawrence gang as extremely dangerous, creating a legitimate fear for their lives and property.
Police Response and Legal Action
Authorities are treating this case with the utmost seriousness. Police have increased security measures around B Praak and are actively analyzing the evidence. This includes scrutinizing the phone numbers used, the voice recordings, and the digital trail left by the perpetrators.
Saurav Jindal, the SP (Investigation), confirmed the registration of a First Information Report. The FIR was filed under sections 308(4) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Sohana police station. Jindal assured that police are taking all necessary steps to ensure the artists' security and are investigating every angle on a priority basis.

This alarming incident highlights a growing trend of extortion threats targeting high-profile individuals in the entertainment industry. The case of B Praak, a singer famous for patriotic hits like 'Teri Mitti' and with a massive national fanbase, underscores the vulnerability of celebrities. It raises urgent questions about the safety and protection of public figures in the current climate.
