Christine Baranski Set for Highly Anticipated West End Debut in 'Hay Fever' Revival
The theatre world is abuzz with excitement as acclaimed actress Christine Baranski prepares to make her long-awaited West End debut. She will star alongside the esteemed Richard E Grant in a fresh revival of Noel Coward's timeless comedy, 'Hay Fever'. This announcement has generated significant anticipation among theatre enthusiasts globally, marking a major moment in London's theatrical calendar.
Baranski to Portray Judith Bliss in Classic Comedy
Christine Baranski will take on the role of retired actress Judith Bliss in what is described as a "stinging new production" of the classic play. Expressing her enthusiasm, Baranski shared a heartfelt statement about this career milestone. "I attended my first West End play as a student at Juilliard in 1971, so it’s rather a dream come true to perform at Wyndham’s Theatre in a Noel Coward play in the West End. I look forward to a life in London, a city I absolutely adore," she said, highlighting the personal significance of this debut.
Richard E Grant Returns to Stage After Two Decades
Richard E Grant will portray David Bliss, a reclusive novelist and Judith's husband, marking his return to the West End stage after a notable 20-year absence. Grant expressed his delight, stating, "Twenty-five years ago, I guest-starred for a night in The Play What I Wrote at the beautiful Wyndham’s Theatre. I am delighted to return to the Wyndham’s stage (and maybe to a bigger dressing room) alongside the sensational Christine Baranski in Noel Coward’s delicious comedy, Hay Fever, which premiered in the West End 101 years ago (but who’s counting?)."
