Revealing the Secret Behind Ranveer Singh's On-Screen Brilliance
In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Oberoi opened up about the film and his co-star Ranveer Singh's remarkable portrayal of Hamza. When questioned about how Singh perfected his character, Oberoi disclosed, "Subconsciously, he was always Hamza. Chodhta hi nahi tha banda woh (He never got out of character)." He elaborated, clarifying that this did not imply Singh was perpetually angry on set, but rather deeply immersed in his role.
Oberoi emphasized that Singh's unwavering dedication significantly enhanced the overall impact of the 'Dhurandhar' films. He remarked, "Tabhi aap dekh rahe ho kya raha hai…kis level tak ki acting ho sakti hai. Matlab 360-degree kya, 720-degree acting ki hai. Itne ache se unhone woh enact kiya hai (That’s why you can see what’s happening—how far acting can go. Not just 360 degrees, he’s delivered a 720-degree performance. He has enacted it so brilliantly)." This praise underscores Singh's commitment to delivering a multi-dimensional and compelling performance.
A Collaborative and Enjoyable On-Set Dynamic
Despite the intense nature of their roles, the sets were not devoid of camaraderie. Oberoi fondly recalled his time working with Singh, describing him as a "buddy". He noted that although Singh is younger, he carried himself with the maturity of a senior professional on set.
Reflecting on their collaborative process, Oberoi shared details about their first scene together, which was particularly intense. "When we were heading to shoot on the first day, and it was our first scene together, which was very intense. He sat across. We discussed it. We started talking about it: 'What do you think?'. Slowly, gradually, he took me to that world, and both of us started talking about things," he explained. This mutual exploration and discussion helped forge a powerful on-screen chemistry.
Oberoi concluded with heartfelt appreciation, stating, "Pura dil laga kar woh scene shoot hua tha. Bohot maza aaya unke sath kaam karke (That scene was shot with complete dedication and heart.
