A tragic incident occurred on the sets of the highly anticipated Rajinikanth-starrer 'Jailer 2' near Chennai on Thursday, resulting in the death of a 28-year-old crew member due to electrocution. The deceased has been identified as T Karthikeyan, a member of the film crew, according to police reports.

The shooting was taking place near Panaiyur on East Coast Road (ECR), close to Kanathur. Police sources revealed that Karthikeyan was engaged in electrical connection work at the shooting spot when he accidentally came into contact with a live wire, suffering a severe electric shock. Fellow crew members immediately rushed him to a hospital in an ambulance, but he succumbed to his injuries and died on the way.
