Deepika Padukone Raises Alarm Over Mumbai's Air Quality Crisis

Deepika Padukone, who welcomed her baby girl Dua in September 2024, has been maintaining a low profile recently. However, the actress broke her silence on social media to voice serious concerns about Mumbai's deteriorating air quality. Tagging the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), she urgently called for action as the city struggles under an intense heatwave. Padukone expressed deep worries that children and residents are finding it increasingly difficult to breathe clean air amid escalating pollution levels.

Actress Demands Immediate Measures from Authorities

In a recent Instagram story, Deepika Padukone highlighted the rising air pollution in Mumbai by tagging both the BMC and the BMC Public Health Department. She urged them to take immediate steps to improve the city's air quality. This move comes as the BMC had previously issued notices to several construction sites and temporarily halted their operations, leading to a noticeable improvement in the Air Quality Index (AQI). Sharing a photo of Mumbai's smog-filled skyline, the actress wrote, "This city (& it's children) are choking! How is this okay? @bmc @mybmchealth help!" followed by a folded hands emoji, emphasizing the severity of the situation.

However, her flight was among many that were cancelled in recent days.
