Delhi Makes '120 Bahadur' Tax-Free from Nov 28

In a significant move to honor the Indian Army's valor, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has officially declared the war drama '120 Bahadur' a tax-free film within the national capital. This decision, which comes into effect on November 28, is a special tribute to the bravery of the soldiers immortalized in the movie.

A Tribute to Military Heroism

The Chief Minister made the announcement through her official account on the social media platform X, where she also lauded the film for its powerful commemoration of the Indian Army's heroism. The film '120 Bahadur' is a historical war drama that pays homage to the incredible courage, leadership, and sacrifice of the 120 soldiers from the Charlie Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment. These soldiers fought a legendary battle at Rezang La during the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

In her post, CM Gupta emphasized that the movie shines a light on the inspiring leadership of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, whose actions and ultimate sacrifice have become a lasting symbol of courage in India's rich military history. The tax-free status is intended as a mark of respect for these valiant men.

Star-Studded Cast and Crew

'120 Bahadur' features a talented ensemble cast. Farhan Akhtar steps into the pivotal role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a revered Param Vir Chakra awardee who led his troops from the front in the historic stand against Chinese forces. The film also stars prominent actors like Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, and Dhanveer Singh in key roles.

Behind the camera, the film is directed by Razneesh 'Razy' Ghai and is a production collaboration from Excel Entertainment's Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, alongside Amit Chandra of Trigger Happy Studios. The movie was released nationwide in cinemas on November 21, just a week before its tax-free status begins in Delhi.

Honoring a Defining Battle

This governmental gesture ensures that more citizens can easily access and witness this cinematic retelling of one of the most defining moments in India's military past. By removing the financial barrier of entertainment tax, the Delhi government aims to encourage audiences to learn about and reflect upon the immense sacrifices made by Indian soldiers at the Battle of Rezang La. The film serves not just as entertainment, but as a national reminder of duty, courage, and patriotism.
