Dharmendra's Health Update: What We Know

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, who is set to turn 90 this December, has been hospitalized at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital for over a week now. The legendary actor was admitted on October 31, initially for what his team described as routine medical check-ups.

Family Shows Support During Hospital Stay

On Monday evening, the actor's son Sunny Deol was photographed arriving at the hospital to visit his ailing father. Accompanying Sunny was his son Karan Deol, who came to show support for his grandfather. In paparazzi videos that quickly circulated online, Sunny Deol was seen attempting to shield his face from cameras as media personnel surrounded his vehicle at the hospital entrance.

The emotional footage showed Sunny sitting in the front seat with a serious expression before quickly hiding his face, apparently trying to maintain privacy during this difficult family time. The video sparked immediate concern among fans, who flooded social media with prayers and well-wishes for the beloved actor's recovery.

Official Statements and Health Clarifications

Dharmendra's second wife, Hema Malini, also visited the hospital separately and provided a health update to Hindustan Times. "We are hoping for a speedy recovery," the actress-politician stated, indicating the family's positive outlook.

Amid circulating reports suggesting the actor was in critical condition and required ventilator support, sources close to the family have strongly denied these claims. A source told Indian Express, "The whole ventilator news is fake. Dharmendra has been hospitalized for a week but he is not on a ventilator."

The source further emphasized that if the situation were critical, the entire family would have been present at the hospital continuously.

An official statement from the actor's team released on Monday confirmed: "Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family's right to privacy."

While initial reports suggested breathlessness as the reason for hospitalization, the actor's team had earlier clarified that he was admitted for routine medical tests and there was "absolutely no cause for concern."

Despite these assurances, the actor's extended hospitalization has naturally caused worry among his countless fans and well-wishers across India and beyond. The medical facility has yet to release official details about Dharmendra's specific health condition or treatment plan.
