In an exclusive interview with Fortune India, Jyoti Deshpande, who serves as president of media and content business for the film's production house, emphasized that the triumph of Dhurandhar is a shared victory. "This is not just a maker’s success; it is as much the audience's success," she stated. "It has been decades since we witnessed a film that has so powerfully captured the imagination of the movie-going public."
Deshpande highlighted the crucial role played by viewers, who contributed to the film's monumental success through repeat theater visits and enthusiastic word-of-mouth promotion. The producer noted that the thriller has maintained a strong presence in cinemas for over 60 days, a rare feat in contemporary cinema.
"After 'Sholay', I cannot recall a film that has achieved this level of success," Deshpande declared. "There is no greater accolade we, as filmmakers, can receive. This is an organic phenomenon that cannot be scripted, purchased with marketing budgets, or achieved through financial means alone."

During the same conversation, Deshpande revealed exciting details about the upcoming sequel, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. She candidly admitted that if the first installment had not resonated with audiences, the follow-up project would have remained shelved. "We believe 'Dhurandhar 2' will be bigger than the first part," she announced. "It is going to be released in five languages. The success of Dhurandhar 1 in just one language has been so unprecedented."
The producer also shared that the film's appeal transcended linguistic and regional boundaries. Despite being a Hindi-language production, it received significant viewership from South Indian states. Additionally, Deshpande revealed that Dhurandhar became the most-watched film in Pakistan, further underscoring its cross-border popularity.
