Halle Berry Voices Disappointment at Missing Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday
Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry has openly expressed her disappointment at not being included in the star-studded cast of Marvel Studios' upcoming blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday. The actress, who famously portrayed the weather-controlling mutant Storm in the X-Men film series from 2000 to 2014, shared her feelings in a recent interview with ScreenRant.
Berry's Hope for Future X-Men Reunions
Despite her absence from this highly anticipated project, the 59-year-old star remains optimistic about future opportunities to reprise her iconic role. "While I'm sad I won't be in Doomsday this round, there are other rounds. And I would do that in a heartbeat," Berry stated emphatically. Her comments highlight a strong desire to return to the superhero genre that helped define her career in the early 2000s.
Berry elaborated on the significance of the X-Men universe, particularly its themes of mutation and social outcasts, which she believes carry important messages for audiences. "I think the whole world of the X-Men and being mutants and outcasts... They have so much to say that I thought has been really important, especially for my children as they've grown. So they're beloved," she explained, referencing her daughter Nahla and son Maceo-Robert.
Storm's Legacy in the X-Men Film Series
The actress brought the powerful character Ororo Munroe, also known as Storm, to life across multiple installments of the franchise:
- X-Men (2000)
- X2: X-Men United (2003)
- X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
- X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
Reflecting on her time as the Earth mutant, Berry said, "Storm is a very special character to me. I've been so blessed when I gotten to play her." Her portrayal is widely regarded as a groundbreaking moment for representation in superhero cinema.

The film will also star major Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) actors such as Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), and Anthony Mackie (Captain America). New additions include Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and Lewis Pullman as Sentry.

The Fantastic Four, featuring Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic and Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, are confirmed to appear. Additionally, Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers, last seen in 2019's Avengers: Endgame.
However, Berry is not the only notable absence. Mark Ruffalo's The Incredible Hulk will also be missing from the film, despite the character's presence in the MCU since 2012. Reports indicate that Ruffalo is open to future Hulk projects, mirroring Berry's hopeful stance on returning to her superhero roots.
As the entertainment world eagerly awaits Avengers: Doomsday, Berry's candid remarks remind fans of the enduring impact of the X-Men franchise and the potential for beloved characters to make comebacks in future Marvel endeavors.
