"I texted Mark and he responded, 'Oh my God, this is one of the greatest things I've read.' To get back together with him—he's such a wonderful person—it was truly a dream."
Hemsworth emphasized that his character represents a significant departure from his previous roles. "It's a very different character than I've played before," he explained. "It required shedding many of the default mechanisms and tools I've applied in action films, particularly those involving strength, posturing, and showmanship. This role allowed me to explore both the skill set and emotional depth of the character, as well as the psychological warfare between the individuals involved."

For Halle Berry, who plays the high-performing insurance broker Sharon, the role resonated deeply on a personal level. "This is a woman that's very close to me," Berry stated. "Being a woman of a certain age, I understand the feeling that the world is trying to diminish you in some way, or tell you that your time is up and that things are over. I just refuse to accept that narrative. It's not over—I'm just getting started." Her character's struggle with being repeatedly passed over for promotion adds a layer of relatability and emotional complexity to the thriller.
