Soccer Star Jorginho Frello Accuses Singer Chappel Roan of Security Guard Confrontation
Brazilian soccer star Jorginho Frello has publicly called out singer-songwriter Chappel Roan, alleging that her security guard confronted his 11-year-old daughter and accused the child of harassment, leaving her in tears. The incident reportedly occurred during Lollapalooza Brazil, sparking a heated social media exchange.
Jorginho Details the Upsetting Hotel Breakfast Incident
Frello shared a lengthy post to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, describing what he called "a very upsetting situation with my family earlier." He explained that his wife and daughter were attending the music festival and staying at the same hotel as Roan.
According to Jorginho's account:
- His daughter had made a sign expressing admiration for Roan, whom she "really admires, or used to admire"
- During breakfast, Roan walked past their table
- His daughter recognized the singer, got excited, and walked past Roan's table to confirm her identity
- She smiled, didn't speak or ask for anything, and returned to sit with her mother
Security Guard's Alleged Aggressive Response
Jorginho claims that "what happened next was completely disproportionate." He wrote that "a large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and daughter."
The soccer star detailed that the guard allegedly told his wife she shouldn't allow the daughter to "disrespect" or "harass" other people. "Honestly, I don't know at what point simply walking past a table and looking to see if someone is there can be considered harassment," Frello stated in his post.
He further claimed the security guard threatened to file a complaint with the hotel while his daughter sat there crying. "My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot," Jorginho wrote, emphasizing the emotional impact on the child.
Public Call-Out and Social Media Fallout
In his Instagram Stories, Jorginho directly tagged Roan's account and wrote in all-caps: "WITHOUT YOUR FANS, YOU WOULD BE NOTHING. AND TO THE FANS, SHE DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR AFFECTION."
Jorginho's wife, Harding, reposted her husband's statements about Roan on her own Instagram Stories, which included a picture of their daughter's fan-made sign for Roan's performance. The sign featured a reference to the pop star's popular song 'HOT TO GO!'
The incident has drawn attention to celebrity-fan interactions and security protocols at major events, particularly when involving children. As of now, Chappel Roan has not publicly responded to Jorginho's allegations.
