Kunal Kamra Launches Scathing Attack on Ranveer Allahbadia Over Controversy Fallout
Prominent comedian Kunal Kamra has unleashed a fierce criticism against popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, accusing him of "milking" the ongoing controversy surrounding the show India's Got Latent while completely ignoring the devastating professional fallout experienced by the comedy community.
The Controversy That Sparked Nationwide Backlash
The controversy originated during an episode of the show hosted by Samay Raina, where Allahbadia made what many considered to be an inappropriate and lewd remark about parental intimacy. This single comment triggered massive public outrage across social media platforms and traditional media outlets.
The consequences were immediate and severe. Multiple First Information Reports were filed across various states, court summons were issued to numerous content creators including Kamra himself, and eventually, the controversial episodes were completely removed from YouTube's platform.
Allahbadia's Philosophical Reflection Meets Kamra's Wrath
Recently taking to social media platform X, Allahbadia reflected on the controversy's impact on his career, noting that it took him "10 years to build the brands" but "one incident changed everything." He referenced a traditional doha by Sant Kabir, writing in both Hindi and English about patience and gradual rebuilding.
However, this philosophical approach did not sit well with Kamra, who responded with sharp criticism pointing out what he believed Allahbadia had conspicuously failed to acknowledge.
'Over 30 Artists Were Summoned': Kamra Highlights Industry-Wide Impact
Kamra emphasized the extensive collateral damage caused by the controversy, revealing that more than 30 artists, including himself, received official summons from authorities due to their association with the controversial show.
The comedian detailed the severe ripple effects throughout the comedy industry: numerous shows were abruptly cancelled, venues withdrew their support, and comedians faced widespread judgment and professional setbacks. According to Kamra, the consequences of Allahbadia's remark continue to negatively impact the entire stand-up comedy circuit.
"The pathetic shadow of Ranveer's stupidity still continues to make lives of funny comedians difficult. You didn't even care to understand that side," Kamra stated bluntly.
'Stop Pretending to Be the Nice Guy': Kamra Demands Accountability
The comedian further accused Allahbadia of ignoring this harsh reality and called out what he described as a carefully curated public image designed to minimize responsibility.
Urging genuine accountability, Kamra wrote: "Stop pretending to be the nice guy you're not. Take your cheques, lower your gaze & be very ashamed. You're a contraceptive for creativity, stop milking this & go back to what you do best which is being a hurdle for upward social change while FraudCasting & clout chasing..."
Ongoing Fallout and Industry Consequences
As of current reporting, Allahbadia has not publicly responded to Kamra's latest remarks. The controversy, which erupted in February 2025, has already resulted in multiple legal and professional setbacks for those associated with the show.
Allahbadia had previously issued a public apology, admitting that comedy "wasn't his strength," but Kamra's pointed comments indicate that for many within the entertainment industry, particularly the comedy community, the fallout remains far from resolved.
The incident highlights the complex dynamics between different segments of India's digital content creation industry and raises important questions about responsibility, accountability, and the interconnected nature of professional consequences in the entertainment world.
