Kangana Ranaut Opens Up About Past 'Witch-Hunt' and Black Magic Allegations

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has publicly revisited a deeply turbulent chapter from her past, alleging that she was subjected to intense personal attacks and what she describes as a "witch-hunt" following legal action initiated by a former partner. Speaking in an interview with ANI, Ranaut claimed that the situation rapidly escalated into a damaging public narrative that portrayed her in an extreme and harmful light.

Allegations of Witchcraft and Rituals

Kangana Ranaut stated, "My ex who filed a case on me... and on top of that, some people stood up and said she's a witch, she drinks blood, she does black magic. So there was a witch-hunting. There was evident and very apparent witch-hunting happening at that time and I was hardly 26 or 27 years old." She emphasized that this experience shaped her perspective, adding, "So when this is how they're going to treat me, why should I make them look good... I have no reason to make them look good."

Reflecting on that difficult period, the actress maintained that she handled the circumstances to the best of her ability. "Even today, when I look back, I think that I was just doing the best I could do," she said, noting that she drew inner strength from her personal journey and professional achievements.

Background of Past Allegations by Adhyayan Suman

Ranaut's remarks come against the backdrop of previous allegations made by her former partner, actor Adhyayan Suman. In a 2016 interview with DNA, Suman claimed that he was asked to participate in unusual rituals. He alleged, "One day, Kangana called me at home in the night to do some puja… She had covered it in black, including black curtains... There were some random statues of God, fire all around... She asked me to chant some mantras and locked me in. I was terrified." Suman further asserted that he was later instructed to perform rituals at a graveyard.

Legal Proceedings and Defamation Complaint

Separately, in 2017, actor Aditya Pancholi and his wife Zarina Wahab filed a criminal defamation complaint against Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel in an Andheri court. This legal action pertained to statements made by Ranaut concerning her past relationship with Pancholi, adding another layer of controversy to her personal life.

The actress's candid revelations highlight the intense scrutiny and sensationalism that can accompany high-profile relationships in the entertainment industry, raising questions about privacy and public perception.
