Kapil Sharma Called Samay Raina Before India's Got Latent Row, Says 'Be Careful'
Kapil Sharma Warned Samay Raina Before Controversy

The Great Indian Kapil Show featured a much-anticipated special episode on Saturday, bringing together YouTuber Samay Raina and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia. This marked their first joint appearance following the intense backlash from the India's Got Latent controversy, which led to legal troubles and career setbacks for both. Kapil Sharma hosted the lively episode, with the trio engaging in nonstop roasting and candid exchanges.

Kapil Sharma's Warning to Samay Raina

During the show, Ranveer Allahbadia quizzed Kapil about whether he had watched episodes of India's Got Latent. Kapil responded, 'I have watched many episodes. I even called Samay. I called and told him, 'How is there not a single case against you?'' Samay then interjected, 'And I swear, the day my show shut down, sir called me a day before that, he told me something bad is going to happen to you.' Kapil clarified, 'I told him that you're in the limelight now, be careful. I was telling that from experience, I'm not a clairvoyant. You can be famous by saying anything, but once you're famous, you can't just say anything.' He also highlighted his own experiences with lawsuits stemming from joke content and late-night tweets.

How Samay Raina and Kapil Sharma Stayed Connected

In February last year, Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia faced a sudden upheaval in their personal, professional, legal, and financial lives due to the scandal. Reflecting on the chaos, Samay revealed, 'Genuinely, Kapil sir was the first person to call me at that time. I still don't know whether it was concern or an insult. He said, 'Samay, just like your good days got over, your bad days will be over soon too.'' He added, 'We were waiting for something to happen. Kapil sir also stopped tweeting around then. The first couple of weeks were so quiet. Udit Narayan also stopped kissing people,' which drew laughter from the audience.

What Sparked the India's Got Latent Row

The controversy erupted on Samay Raina's show when Ranveer Allahbadia asked a contestant a shocking question: whether they would prefer watching their parents engage in intimacy daily or join in once to stop it. This crude remark triggered widespread criticism and multiple lawsuits against everyone involved. In response, Samay removed all India's Got Latent videos from YouTube. Despite the fallout, the trio reconciled on The Great Indian Kapil Show, which is now streaming on Netflix.
