Krishna Shroff, currently captivating audiences on the reality show 'The 50', is winning hearts not just with her performance but also with heartfelt revelations about her family. The star, known for her close-knit bond with her parents and brother, recently shared an emotional story about her mother's immense sacrifice and her parents' enduring love story.
A Normal Upbringing Away from Bollywood Glamour
In a candid conversation with fellow contestant Yuvika Choudhary on 'The 50', Krishna Shroff reflected on her childhood, emphasizing how she and her brother Tiger Shroff were deliberately shielded from the film industry's spotlight. "We had such a normal upbringing," she stated. "The school we went to was not highlighted. We weren’t always on sets. We were very private and kind of kept away." She added that having an actor father, Jackie Shroff, never felt challenging; it was only when others mentioned it that she realized its uniqueness.
The Sacrifice: Ayesha Shroff's Leap from Luxury to Chawl Life
Krishna delved into her parents' early days, revealing a poignant tale of love and sacrifice. Her mother, Ayesha Shroff, hailed from a prosperous household with well-to-do parents. However, when she married Jackie Shroff, he was living in a modest chawl in Mumbai with his mother and father. Ayesha made the bold decision to leave her comfortable and wealthy lifestyle behind, choosing to reside in the chawl with Jackie and his parents, even after his debut film 'Hero' was released.
Krishna explained, "My mom came from a very good household; her parents were doing very well. Then she married my father, who was living in a chawl with his mom and dad. She left everything her mother built, and stayed in the chawl with my dad and his parents." This period lasted for a while before they purchased their first home, where they eventually got married.
Family Bond and A Mother's Selflessness
Speaking about her immediate family, Krishna highlighted their closeness, noting that it consists of just her father, mother, Tiger, and herself. "We are very close as a family because at the end of the day it's just my father, mother, Tiger, and myself," she said. She mentioned that they lost their grandparents, and due to family circumstances like her dad losing his brother early and her mom's parents divorcing, they weren't close to extended relatives, making their core unit even tighter.
Krishna praised her mother's unwavering dedication, describing motherhood as the most selfless role. "My mother is so understanding. She will put all our happiness in front of hers. I feel being a mother is the most selfless job in the world," she expressed, acknowledging Ayesha's efforts and sacrifices that have shaped their family's strong foundation.
