Filmmaker Kunal Kohli has come out strongly in defense of actor Ranveer Singh, who has been facing criticism over recent box office failures. Kohli emphasized that every superstar goes through phases of failure, and it is unfair to judge an actor solely based on collection numbers.
Kohli's Strong Defense
In a recent statement, Kohli praised Ranveer's performance in the film Dhurandhar 2, urging audiences to look beyond commercial success. He said, "Success can sometimes be a disservice, as it creates unrealistic expectations. Every star faces failure at some point; it's part of the journey."
Box Office vs. Talent
The director argued that box office numbers do not always reflect an actor's talent or the quality of a film. He pointed out that many acclaimed actors have had flops but bounced back stronger. "Ranveer is an incredible performer, and his work in Dhurandhar 2 is proof of his dedication," Kohli added.
Industry Support
Kohli's remarks come amid a broader debate about the pressure on actors to deliver hits. Several industry figures have also voiced support for Ranveer, including filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who publicly backed him during the Don 3 controversy. The actor has remained silent on recent disputes, including the FWICE row.
