Kannur: Malayalam film actor Ismail and his friend Sajeesh were killed after a speeding car ran over them in Kannavam, Kannur, on Tuesday. The 52-year-old actor was walking along the road with his friend Sajeesh (52) when the accident took place.
Accident Details
A speeding car from Peravoor side lost control and hit the duo. The impact of the accident was so severe that both of them died on the spot. The vehicle later came to a halt after ramming a CCTV camera post.
Victims' Background
Ismail was a noted Malayalam film actor, best known for his role in the 2009 film 'Albhutha Dweep'. Sajeesh used to run a tyre repair shop in the area.
Investigation Underway
Kannavam police registered a case in the incident and launched an investigation. The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to Kannur Medical College mortuary for postmortem examination. Authorities are looking into the circumstances leading to the accident.
