Meera Chopra Opens Up About Secretive Nature and Priyanka Chopra's Support

Actor-model Meera Chopra, who has recently ventured into film production with Gandhi Talks, has shared intriguing insights about her relationship with her globally renowned cousin, Priyanka Chopra. In a candid promotional interview, Meera revealed that she deliberately kept her production debut a secret from Priyanka and most others, citing her superstitious beliefs and secretive personality.

The Secret Behind Gandhi Talks

During her conversation with Galatta India, Meera Chopra explained why she chose not to inform even her supportive cousin about Gandhi Talks before its official announcement. "No, she didn't know I was doing this. Nobody knew I was doing this, not even my friends or family," Meera confessed. She attributed this secrecy to her cautious nature and superstitions about the evil eye, stating, "I am a very secretive person, and I am very superstitious. I think that nazar lag jaati hai, and I think that there are a lot of people in this industry who don't want you to do well."

Meera emphasized that only her husband and investors were aware of her production plans until the official announcement. This approach reflects her belief in protecting her projects from potential negativity within the competitive film industry.

Priyanka Chopra's Unwavering Family Support

Despite keeping her cousin in the dark about Gandhi Talks, Meera Chopra had nothing but praise for Priyanka Chopra's consistent support of their family. "See, I have always said that Priyanka is somebody who stands very strongly with her entire family. She has supported, no matter how big she has become," Meera stated. She expressed admiration for Priyanka's growth beyond individual success, describing her as "a movement" rather than just a person.

Meera highlighted one of Priyanka's most commendable traits: "One of her best habits is standing with her family. She feels very proud when any of us have done anything, and she is very happy that I have done this." This familial pride and encouragement, according to Meera, creates a reassuring environment where knowing someone of Priyanka's stature is proud of you brings immense satisfaction.

Navigating Bollywood's Challenges

Reflecting on her career journey, Meera Chopra described Bollywood as a realm of "constant struggle," where she continues to strive for recognition and success. Her decision to step into production with Gandhi Talks marks a significant milestone in this ongoing journey. The film, directed by KP Belekar, is a silent feature starring notable actors like Vijay Sethupati, Aditi Rao Hydari, Arvind Swamy, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Nilesh Divekar, scheduled for release on January 30.

Meera's experiences underscore the complexities of the entertainment industry, where personal beliefs about luck and secrecy intersect with professional ambitions and family dynamics. Her story offers a glimpse into the balancing act many artists perform between protecting their work and acknowledging the support systems that sustain them.
