Mumtaz Shares Intimate Memories of Dharmendra's Hospitality and Character
Veteran Bollywood actress Mumtaz recently opened up in an emotional interview about her cherished memories with legendary actor Dharmendra, detailing their last personal meeting and reflecting on his exceptional warmth as a human being. The conversation also touched upon her relationship with Dharmendra's famous sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, whom she praised despite having limited direct interaction with them over the years.
"I Went to His House... We Spent Quality Time Together"
Recounting her final personal interaction with Dharmendra, Mumtaz revealed to interviewer Vickey Lalwani, "I visited his residence with my sister Malika. His wife graciously served us tea and homemade food, and we sat together for hours, simply talking and reminiscing." She emphasized that their connection had endured through the decades, with both attending various social events and celebrations.
"He made a point to attend one or two of my birthday parties, which were large gatherings," Mumtaz added. "He would come and sit with us, sharing laughter and stories. That genuine presence meant so much." Her voice filled with nostalgia as she remembered Dharmendra's fundamental goodness, stating, "He was a truly wonderful person. Perhaps God needs such good souls more urgently, which is why they are called away sooner."
Limited But Respectful Bond With Sunny and Bobby Deol
When questioned about her relationship with Dharmendra's sons, Mumtaz admitted that she hasn't developed a close personal bond with either Sunny or Bobby Deol. "We are not particularly close; circumstances simply never aligned for deeper connections," she explained. "We never collaborated on film projects, and they didn't frequently visit sets where I was working, so opportunities for interaction were naturally scarce."
Despite this distance, Mumtaz spoke highly of both actors, attributing their character to their father's influence. "Although I haven't spent much time with them, I consistently hear that they are very decent individuals," she shared. "When the father possesses such remarkable qualities, it is almost inevitable that the children will inherit and reflect those same virtues."
Praise for Deol Family Unity and Values
Mumtaz also commented on reports about the Deol family maintaining a joint household, expressing admiration for their solidarity. "I understand they all live together harmoniously and are genuinely content," she noted. "They are even expanding their home by adding another floor, which strongly suggests they plan to continue this tradition of togetherness."
She concluded with heartfelt appreciation, saying, "If these reports are accurate, it is truly commendable. It demonstrates that they are boys with good hearts and strong family values. I feel immense pride for them and their choices."
