Director Nadirshah Alleges Coordinated Cyber Attack on New Film 'Magic Mushrooms'

In a startling revelation, acclaimed director Nadirshah has disclosed that his latest cinematic venture, 'Magic Mushrooms', is facing a planned cyber attack aimed at undermining its success. The director expressed concerns that certain online elements are actively working to pull the movie down through systematic negative campaigns.

Vlogger Campaign Appears More Than Normal Criticism

Nadirshah emphasized that while constructive criticism and honest reviews are welcome aspects of film appreciation, what's currently happening appears to be something entirely different. "This seems not like normal reviewing," the director stated, pointing out that vloggers are repeatedly posting negative videos in what appears to be a coordinated effort rather than offering genuine one-time opinions about the film's quality.

According to the filmmaker, this pattern suggests a clear plan to deliberately harm the film's reputation and box office performance. He contrasted this with legitimate criticism, noting that "it is okay when someone likes a film or does not like a film" when expressed authentically.

Theatre Visits Reveal Positive Audience Response

Contrary to the negative online campaign, Nadirshah reported that he and his team have been visiting theatres screening 'Magic Mushrooms' over the past several days. "For the last two to three days, we have been going to theatres where the movie is running," he shared with media outlets.

The director explained their selective approach to theatre visits: "For a director, writer, hero, heroine, and producer to boldly walk into a theatre, the feedback from the audience must be positive. Only then will we go." He added that if a movie were genuinely bad, no one from the creative team would have the courage to face theatre audiences directly.

Nadirshah revealed that audience response has been consistently positive across various locations, with the team even posting videos from theatres in the Malabar area and Kochi to showcase genuine viewer reactions.

Specific Vlogger Example Highlights Problematic Pattern

The director cited a specific example to illustrate his concerns about the coordinated nature of these attacks. He mentioned one vlogger who claimed in a new video that he visited Ernakulam Forum Mall where something was being shot, then boasted about the massive reach of his previous negative review of 'Magic Mushrooms'.

"That means he has decided to live off this," Nadirshah commented, suggesting that some content creators are deliberately generating controversy around the film for personal gain rather than offering authentic critique.

The filmmaker clarified his position on genuine criticism: "If it is a genuine review, then you say the movie was good or not good. That is the end of it." He emphasized that the current pattern of repeated negative posting goes far beyond this standard approach to film criticism.

Director Suspects Organized Effort Behind Attacks

Nadirshah expressed strong suspicions that these attacks are not random occurrences but rather part of an organized campaign. "But this is a continued attack done only to target the film," he asserted. "Someone has assigned them this, and they are all doing it together."

The director of 'Amar Akbar Anthony' believes there is a coordinated group effort happening against 'Magic Mushrooms', with someone deliberately wanting the film to fail commercially and critically.

Questions Raised About Motives and Ethics

Nadirshah strongly questioned the ethical implications and motives behind these coordinated attacks. "What is the point of earning money like this and eating it?" he asked rhetorically, suggesting that some individuals might be profiting from generating negative content about the film.

While acknowledging that filmmakers must accept legitimate criticism when their work doesn't resonate with audiences, Nadirshah drew a clear distinction: "If the film is not good, we have the right to say that. But this kind of planned attack clearly has a target."

About 'Magic Mushrooms'

The film in question, 'Magic Mushrooms', features Vishnu Unnikrishnan in the lead role and was released on the 23rd of this month. The story, screenplay, and dialogues have been written by newcomer Akash Dev, making this a significant project for multiple creative talents in the industry.

This controversy highlights the growing challenge filmmakers face in the digital age, where coordinated online campaigns can potentially impact a film's reception regardless of its actual quality or audience response in theatres.
