Padma Shri Tarun Bhattacharya to perform in Varanasi with L. Shankar

Following his recent Padma Shri honor, santoor player Tarun Bhattacharya is set to perform in Varanasi as part of the Annapurna Devi Foundation Music Tour. The concert will feature a collaboration with violinist L. Shankar, bringing together the santoor and violin in a joint recital.

A Unique Musical Dialogue

The meeting of santoor and violin—two instruments with contrasting tonal textures—promises a rare musical dialogue that blends intricacy with spontaneity. Bhattacharya, based in Kolkata, has continued to perform across India and abroad in recent months. Alongside his performances, he remains engaged in training young musicians, following the guru–shishya tradition.
