Palak Purswani and her fiancé Rohan Khanna are set to tie the knot in Coimbatore on June 26, following several changes to their original wedding plans. The couple, initially scheduled to marry in December, traveled across countries scouting venues and nearly finalized Jordan before the war in the region forced them to reconsider.
Reflecting on the Shift
Speaking about the change of plans, Palak says the unexpected pause gave them time to reflect on what truly matters. Palak, known for shows like Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, Meri Hanikarak Biwi, Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee, and Bigg Boss OTT 2, shares, “We genuinely believed we would have an international destination wedding. But gradually, we realized the answer was never luxury or geography; it was something more rooted and meaningful. We had everything locked in — the venue, hotel, and plans in Jordan — and then circumstances changed. Strangely, instead of feeling disappointed, it made us pause and ask ourselves what we are really looking for. No matter how many countries we explore or venues we visit, it feels like we are always meant to come back home.”
A Spiritual Connection
She adds, “Now, we cannot imagine it happening anywhere else. Rohan and I are both deeply spiritual people, and we want the wedding to feel aligned with who we are. We both realize we don’t want a typical big wedding with endless functions and all the noise around it.”
Embracing Indian Roots
The actress further explains that both she and Rohan feel strongly drawn to celebrating their special day in India. She also mentions that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to host weddings within the country resonates with them. “Of course, the war situation changed our plans, and Prime Minister Modi’s message about celebrating India makes us reflect too. At the same time, it is connected to our own journey. There is a strong inner feeling that we are being guided towards something,” she says.
The couple’s decision underscores a growing trend among celebrities to opt for intimate, meaningful ceremonies over lavish international affairs. Their wedding in Coimbatore promises to be a reflection of their values and spirituality, away from the typical extravagance.
