Paramvir Cheema Opens Up About Border 2 Journey and Star-Studded Cast

In an exclusive interview, Paramvir Cheema, who plays a supporting role in the blockbuster film Border 2, revealed his initial hesitations and memorable moments while working with industry giants like Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan. The film, starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahaan Shetty, has been a massive success, grossing over Rs 300 crore worldwide.

Initial Reluctance and Typecasting Concerns

Paramvir Cheema admitted that he was initially hesitant to sign on for Border 2 due to fears of being overshadowed in an ensemble cast. He shared, "As an actor, I am always conscious about not getting typecast. I want people to see different versions of me as a versatile actor." When approached for an audition through Mukesh Chhabra's office, his first concern was whether he would be noticed among such big names. He also discussed a potential turban-wearing requirement, which was later resolved after a conversation with director Anurag Singh, who instead focused on his ability to speak Haryanvi.

Working with Varun Dhawan: From Worry to Camaraderie

Most of Paramvir's scenes in Border 2 were with Varun Dhawan, and he initially felt stressed about the dynamic. He explained, "Varun is a very big star, and I didn't know how he would be on set. Any friction could impact our scenes." However, their relationship quickly warmed up through shared activities like playing cricket during off days. Varun even complimented Paramvir on his work in Black Warrant and introduced him to his wife, showcasing a supportive environment on set.

The Aura of Sunny Deol: A Shivering Experience

Reflecting on his scenes with Sunny Deol, Paramvir described the veteran actor as having a "very big aura" and being a quiet, shy person off-camera. He recalled a particular scene where he had to hand a flag to Sunny Deol, saying, "My hands were shivering when I entered the scene. I was lost in the moment, just recalling his dialogue in my head." This experience highlighted the intense presence Sunny Deol brings to his roles, especially in a film like Border 2.

Challenges of a Newcomer in an Ensemble Cast

Paramvir also spoke about the broader challenges of being a newcomer in a star-studded film. He noted, "The fear of standing out in an ensemble is always there. When people come to watch big stars, the challenge is to leave an impact." He emphasized the importance of making his role noticeable and memorable, despite the competition for screen attention.

Overall, Paramvir Cheema's journey in Border 2 showcases the blend of nervousness and growth that comes with working alongside Bollywood's biggest names, ultimately contributing to the film's box office triumph.
