Hyderabad Police File Case After Nidhhi Agerwal Mobbed at Lulu Mall Event
Police Case After Nidhhi Agerwal Mobbed at Hyderabad Mall

A major security lapse at a promotional event in Hyderabad has led to police action and raised serious concerns about celebrity safety. The incident occurred during the song launch of the upcoming Prabhas-starrer film 'The Raja Saab' at Lulu Mall in Hyderabad's Kukatpally area.

Chaos at Lulu Mall Song Launch

Actress Nidhhi Agerwal, who is part of the film's cast, found herself in a terrifying situation as an unexpectedly large crowd of fans overwhelmed the venue's security. Viral videos from the event show a dense throng of people surrounding the actress as she tried to make her way to her car. Despite the presence of security personnel, the crowd became uncontrollable, leading to a complete breakdown of safety arrangements and putting the actress's personal security at risk.

In one particularly disturbing clip that spread widely on social media, Agerwal is heard exclaiming, "Oh my God, what is this?" from inside her vehicle, visibly shaken by the ordeal. The footage sparked immediate outrage and condemnation online, highlighting the grave security failure.

Police Take Suo Motu Action

Responding to the viral videos and public concern, the Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) police registered a case on their own initiative. Police Inspector S. Rajasekhar Reddy confirmed to media that the primary legal violation was the failure to obtain mandatory prior permission for holding the event.

"A case is being registered against the mall management and organizers as the event was held without permission," Inspector Reddy stated. The police have initiated a thorough investigation to pinpoint the lapses in crowd management and security, and to fix responsibility for the dangerous situation.

Event Safety Under Scrutiny

This incident has served as a stark warning about the perils of unauthorized public events that disregard basic safety protocols, especially when high-profile celebrities are involved. The police probe will scrutinize the roles of both the event organizers and the Lulu Mall management in the security breakdown.

As of now, neither Nidhhi Agerwal nor the official team of 'The Raja Saab' has issued a public statement regarding the harrowing episode. The film, directed by Maruthi and headlined by superstar Prabhas, is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9, 2025.
