Prajwal Devaraj Embraces Physically Demanding Role as Guru Siddha in Ramarasa
The upcoming film Ramarasa has generated significant buzz with the release of a new character poster featuring Prajwal Devaraj in a transformative role. The actor steps into the character of Guru Siddha, sporting an intense red-and-black look that hints at the film's richly layered, mythical narrative.
Inspired by Ancient Shaivite Tradition
Produced by Guru Deshpande and directed by BM Giriraj, the film draws inspiration from the Sudugadu Siddha community—a nomadic Shaivite tradition historically known for prophecy, healing, and protecting villages from evil forces. This cultural foundation adds depth to the storyline, promising audiences a cinematic experience rooted in authentic traditions.
Intense Physical and Creative Preparation
Prajwal Devaraj's commitment to the role involved mastering a 12th-century dialect and enduring 4–6 hours of intense prosthetic makeup daily. The actor revealed the challenges of performing in this makeup, often while climbing thousands of steps in the summer heat. He described the experience as "as physically demanding as it was creatively fulfilling," highlighting the rigorous demands of bringing Guru Siddha to life.
Producer Praises Actor's Dedication
At the poster launch, producer Guru Deshpande reflected on his collaboration with Prajwal Devaraj, stating, "Working with Prajwal has been an extraordinary experience. His dedication to becoming Guru Siddha was evident from day one. He brings discipline and dynamic energy that elevates every scene he is in. It's a collaboration I truly cherish." This endorsement underscores the actor's significant contribution to the project.

Ramarasa has wrapped shooting and is currently in post-production. The film also stars Karthik Mahesh, Sharan, and Hebah Patel, adding to its ensemble cast. With production nearing completion, anticipation builds for this exploration of mythical themes and cultural heritage.
