Prithviraj Sukumaran Lands Three Major Directing Projects, Mother Mallika Provides Exciting Update

Following his successful directorial ventures like 'Lucifer', 'Empuraan', and 'Bro Daddy', acclaimed actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran has now received offers to helm three significant new films. This exciting revelation comes from his mother, veteran actress Mallika Sukumaran, who shared intriguing details about her son's upcoming projects while maintaining her characteristic playful distance from his creative process.

Three Big Directing Offers Confirmed

Mallika Sukumaran confirmed that Prithviraj has been approached with directing opportunities for three substantial films. One project will be a Malayalam film, while the other two will be in different languages, expanding his directorial footprint beyond regional cinema. The proud mother emphasized that the Malayalam film is expected to be the first among these to reach theaters, though specific details about the projects remain closely guarded.

"He has received offers to direct three big films," Mallika stated. "One is a Malayalam film and the others are in other languages. The Malayalam film will likely be the first to release."

Mallika's Playful Approach to Her Son's Work

Despite being the mother of one of Malayalam cinema's most prominent figures, Mallika Sukumaran maintains a deliberate distance from Prithviraj's creative decisions. She revealed that she typically learns about his projects through brief one-line ideas rather than detailed narratives, preferring to experience his films as a regular audience member in theaters.

"I only know a few small one-line ideas of those films," she admitted. "I do not know the full stories. I never ask. I like to watch his films in theaters just like all of you, without knowing anything."

Her occasional playful inquiries provide charming insight into their relationship. "When Raju tells the story of a film he is going to direct, I ask him, 'Will someone die at the end?' Then he says, 'Why are you asking that, Amma?' It is because I am getting old now. That is why I feel like asking these things. But now many films have happy endings, so it is fine."

Prithviraj's Packed Schedule Before Directing

Mallika Sukumaran also provided updates on her son's incredibly busy professional calendar before he can begin these new directing ventures. According to her, Prithviraj will complete several acting commitments before focusing on his directorial projects.

  • He will soon return to Kochi after his current commitments
  • Following the shoot of 'Nobody', he has projects with acclaimed director Rajamouli
  • He will then work on 'Khalifa' before returning to Kochi to begin his directing work

"He will reach Kochi soon," Mallika explained. "After the shoot of 'Nobody', he has the Rajamouli film, and then 'Khalifa'. After that he will be in Kochi. Then you can ask him directly about the films he is directing."

Indrajith Sukumaran Also Preparing for Directorial Debut

In addition to sharing news about Prithviraj, Mallika Sukumaran revealed exciting developments regarding her elder son, actor Indrajith Sukumaran. She confirmed that he is actively preparing to make his directorial debut while also taking on producing responsibilities for the project.

The script for Indrajith's directorial venture is already complete, but his packed schedule has delayed the project's commencement. The veteran actress detailed his current professional engagements that are keeping him occupied:

  1. Working on a film by renowned director Anurag Kashyap
  2. Starring in a Hindi film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery
  3. Recently completed a Tamil web series

Mallika expressed evident pride in both her sons' expanding creative horizons, noting how they continue to push boundaries in the Indian entertainment industry while maintaining their distinctive artistic voices.
