In a detailed clarification, Priyadarshan insists his words were misunderstood and were never intended to question the actor's academic background or qualifications.

When questioned about whether Rajpal Yadav felt hurt by the comment, Priyadarshan responded unequivocally. "No, not at all. In fact, we spoke about it recently. It was a slight misunderstanding," the filmmaker stated. He elaborated that his reference to "village education" was specifically about exposure and life experience, rather than formal schooling.
"I had said 'village education,' meaning exposure—not formal education. A person who grows up in a village has a very different kind of exposure compared to someone from a metro city," Priyadarshan clarified, highlighting the nuanced intent behind his words.
Focus on Upbringing and Life Experience
Further elaborating on his perspective, the acclaimed director rooted his comment in the fundamental differences in upbringing between rural and urban environments. "There is a huge difference between someone from a village or small town and someone from a metro. People from villages are often more innocent and trusting because they grow up in an environment where everyone helps each other," he explained.
Contrasting this with metropolitan life, Priyadarshan added, "In contrast, in a metro city, you are more aware of the kind of people around you—good and bad—right from childhood." He reiterated strongly that his observation was not about academics, schooling, or degrees, but purely about the life lessons and awareness gained from one's surroundings and formative years.

Putting to rest any speculation of a rift or tension, Priyadarshan maintained that Rajpal Yadav understood the clarification completely and there was no lingering issue. "Yes, he understood it completely. He was never hurt or worried about it," the filmmaker affirmed, underscoring the solid professional relationship between the two.
