Race 4: Akshaye Khanna Not Returning, Producer Says

Fans of the Race franchise have eagerly awaited news about the fourth installment. Many wondered if Akshaye Khanna would return after his successful role in Dhurandhar. Producer Ramesh Taurani has now provided clear answers.

Producer Ramesh Taurani Addresses Akshaye Khanna Rumors

In a recent interview with HT City, Ramesh Taurani directly addressed speculation about Akshaye Khanna joining Race 4. He stated firmly that the team has not approached the actor. Taurani explained there is simply no scope for his character in the new film.

The producer elaborated on why Khanna cannot return. He reminded everyone that Khanna's character met with an accident in the first Race movie. That storyline concluded there, and it will remain finished. Taurani emphasized there are no current thoughts about bringing him back.

Cast Decisions Still Pending

Taurani also discussed other casting rumors during the interview. When asked about Sidharth Malhotra potentially sharing screen space with Saif Ali Khan, he clarified that no cast has been finalized yet. The production team is currently focusing on script development. Work on the screenplay continues actively before any casting announcements.

Looking Back at the Race Franchise

The Race series began in 2008 with an ensemble cast featuring Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, and Anil Kapoor. The second installment arrived in 2013, introducing John Abraham and Deepika Padukone alongside Saif Ali Khan.

Race 3 premiered in 2018 with a completely new lineup. Salman Khan led the cast alongside Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem, Jacqueline Fernandez, and others. This marked a significant shift from previous films.

Recent reports suggest Saif Ali Khan may return for Race 4 following Race 3's mixed reception. The franchise continues to generate buzz as development progresses.
