The Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer 'Peddi', directed by Buchi Babu Sana, has undergone multiple changes after the film received criticism for its portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor's character Achiyamma. In addition, the latest buzz suggests that the makers have edited multiple aspects of the film.
Janhvi Kapoor and Other Scenes to Be Edited
As per Variety India, the scene that received criticism for objectifying Janhvi Kapoor's character will reportedly be removed from the film. Along with these scenes, some dialogues and portions featuring Divyenndu are also expected to be edited out. It is also said that some expletives and double-meaning dialogues from Divyenndu's character will be removed. Since both Janhvi Kapoor and Divyenndu had limited screen time in the film, these changes could reduce their roles further.
Several Important Portions May Get Shorter
In addition, the makers are also planning to make changes to other parts of the film. It is said that some flashback scenes in the second half featuring Shiva Rajkumar's character Gournaidu, who plays Peddi's wrestling mentor, are also expected to be shortened. Scenes between Ram Charan and Jagapathi Babu's character Appalasoori are also being re-edited. Some portions featuring Boman Irani, who plays an Indian Olympics Association member, may also be removed. The updated version of 'Peddi' will go through a fresh censor certification process. The new cut is expected to start playing in theatres from June 13.
