Ramayana Part One Costumes Revealed at CinemaCon 2026 Event
Exciting new details have emerged from CinemaCon 2026, offering fans an exclusive closer look at the highly anticipated film Ramayana: Part One. Following the Day 1 interviews and interactions at the event, a first look at Yash's Ravana costume was shared online, generating significant buzz among audiences. Photos from the venue showcased the elaborate costumes of the film's lead characters, providing a visual feast for enthusiasts of epic cinema.
Detailed Look at the Character Attires
The photographs revealed Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Lord Rama, featuring a traditional blue dhoti paired with a maroon and gold shawl. This ensemble was complemented by a large gold crown and intricate jewellery, closely resembling his look from the earlier 'Rama' trailer. In contrast, Sai Pallavi's Sita was presented in a simpler yet elegant red saree adorned with a delicate necklace, highlighting her character's grace and purity.
Yash's Ravana costume, which had been briefly teased in previous Rama footage, was displayed prominently on a mannequin. The photos allowed fans to examine his striking black and intricate gold ensemble in detail. This look appears to be designed as formidable battle armour, complete with an elaborate crown, a gold breastplate, shoulder pads, arm bands, cuffs, and an ornate dhoti, emphasizing the character's power and regality.
Yash Confirms No Shared Scenes with Ranbir in Part One
In an interview with Fandango at CinemaCon, Yash addressed questions about the film and his dynamic with co-star Ranbir Kapoor. Surprisingly, he confirmed that he does not share any scenes with Kapoor in the first instalment of this two-part epic. "Interestingly we both have never come together on screen in this film. As you all know, it's a two-part film, so in the first part, as Ravana, I have my own kingdom and Rama has his own kingdom," he explained, setting expectations for the narrative structure.
Mutual Respect and Aligned Visions Among Cast
Despite the lack of shared screen space in Part 1, Yash praised his co-star enthusiastically, adding, "But, yeah, we have met a couple of times, he's such a fabulous actor. I think it is mutual respect which has played out and chemistry is like when you are out to do something phenomenal and it's as ambitious as 'Ramayana', all of us have a single agenda - to give our best to present this story. So, I think our visions are aligned, hence the chemistry between us is not even an issue. We're just enjoying." This highlights the collaborative spirit and dedication driving the project.
Release Schedule and Production Details
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is being mounted as a grand two-part cinematic event. Part 1 is slated for release during Diwali 2026, with Part 2 scheduled to follow in Diwali 2027. This strategic timing aims to capitalize on the festive season, enhancing its appeal to a wide audience. The film promises to be a landmark in Indian cinema, blending traditional storytelling with modern filmmaking techniques.
The revelations from CinemaCon 2026 have significantly heightened anticipation for this epic adaptation, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail in costume design and the strong performances expected from the star-studded cast.
