Trailer Announcement and Comic-Con Showcase
The makers of the highly anticipated Ranbir Kapoor-starrer 'Ramayana' have announced that the official trailer will premiere worldwide on July 24, 2026. This announcement comes just ahead of the film's presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, where the project will be showcased to a global audience.
According to the official Comic-Con schedule, the 'Ramayana' panel will take place on July 23, 2026, at 3:15 p.m. PDT (3:15 a.m. IST on July 24) in Ballroom 20. The panel will feature producer Namit Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari, and actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash.
Scale and Vision
Sharing the announcement on Instagram, the makers stated that the film is inspired by one of India's greatest epics and is being presented on a scale never before seen in Indian cinema. They wrote, "From Bharat to the world. For thousands of years, the Ramayana has inspired generations through its timeless ideals of dharma, maryada, courage and compassion. Now, it begins a new journey. One of Bharat's greatest civilisational epics, presented to the world at a scale never attempted before in Indian cinema. The Ramayana trailer premieres worldwide on 24th July."
The film is helmed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by Namit Malhotra, founder of Prime Focus and global CEO of the Academy Award-winning visual effects studio DNEG. 'Ramayana' is planned as a two-part saga and is one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema.
Cast and Music
Besides Ranbir Kapoor, the film stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The music has been composed by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman.
The first part of 'Ramayana' is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, while the second part is expected to hit theaters during Diwali 2027.
