Ravi Kishan Fights for TV Actors' Recognition and Pension

Ravi Kishan Takes a Stand for Television Actors in New Film Role

Ravi Kishan has landed a significant role in the film adaptation of the popular TV series 'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain'. During the trailer launch event, he spoke openly about the persistent issue of television performers receiving less recognition compared to their counterparts in Bollywood and other industries.

Addressing the Recognition Gap for TV Artists

At the event, a question highlighted the ongoing struggle. Someone asked, "Even today, no one acknowledges television actors properly. Bollywood gets recognition, every industry gets respect, but TV actors don't receive due regard from the government. What is your take on this?"

Kishan responded with a clear example. He pointed to Smriti Irani, a former television actress who successfully transitioned into politics. "She was a very prominent television actor," he said. "The government, the BJP, and Modi ji gave her a major position. She became a significant minister in the Cabinet."

He emphasized that many TV actors have moved to cinema and won National Awards. Others have become MPs and MLAs. "It is not like that," he asserted, countering the notion that TV actors are entirely overlooked.

Proposing a Pension Scheme for Struggling Performers

Ravi Kishan then revealed his proactive efforts to support television actors. He highlighted a private member's bill introduced in Parliament under his name. This bill advocates for a pension plan specifically designed for TV actors in supporting roles who face financial hardships.

"I have asked the government to implement a pension-like scheme for them," he explained. "I have requested land and housing provisions for all Indian actors working in Hindi cinema. My focus is on those character actors who might only get one dialogue or so. There are times when they run out of money."

He confirmed that the bill has been presented in the assembly. A debate will follow to seek approval for this initiative aimed at providing financial security to lesser-known performers.
