In a scathing critique, veteran Bollywood lyricist Sameer Anjaan has launched a sharp attack on the current state of Hindi film music, describing modern Gen-Z melodies as nothing more than "jarring noise." The prolific songwriter, responsible for thousands of iconic film tracks, has openly discussed what he perceives as the critical flaws plaguing today's Bollywood music scene.

During an interaction with DNA India, Sameer Anjaan did not mince words when addressing the state of contemporary Bollywood music. He stated bluntly, "Aaj kal shor bahut badh gaya hai. Sound mein shabd kho gaye hain" (These days, the noise has increased so much that words are getting lost in the sound).
He elaborated that lyrics are increasingly being drowned out by loud, overpowering music, creating a significant imbalance. This issue, according to Anjaan, is not just harming individual songs but is also damaging entire films, given how deeply music influences a movie's success and emotional impact.
Sameer concluded with a stark warning, asserting that unless the industry consciously works to restore the balance between melody and meaningful lyrics, the very soul of Hindi film music will continue to fade away, losing its traditional charm and artistic value.
