In a candid conversation with India Today, Shefali Shah revealed that her role in Rangeela turned out to be completely different from what she had initially been told and understood. "Honestly, the role turned out to be very different from what I was told and understood," she confessed. "Moreover, it was very different from what it got made."

After four days of shooting, the actress realized this wasn't the project she wanted to be part of. Shefali made the bold decision to excuse herself from the film, and to this day, she hasn't watched the completed version of Rangeela.

Despite her early exit from Rangeela, the experience proved pivotal for her career. Her association with Ram Gopal Varma continued, leading to what would become one of her most acclaimed performances in Satya.

Reflecting on the connection between the two films, Shefali acknowledged, "It was because of Rangeela that Satya happened." Her performance in Satya earned widespread critical acclaim, establishing her as a serious actress in the industry.
