Shivangi Verma Exposes Contrasting Work Cultures in Hindi and South Film Industries
Actress Shivangi Verma, who has been actively working across both Hindi and South Indian film industries, recently provided fascinating insights into the fundamental differences between these two cinematic powerhouses. In a candid discussion, she revealed how their distinct working styles, cultural approaches, and professional methodologies create unique experiences for performers.
Speed Versus Perfection: The Core Distinction
"There is a major difference between the two industries," Shivangi Verma emphasized. "The working style is very different, the language is obviously different, and I see significant cultural differences that affect how films are made."
She elaborated on this contrast by explaining: "In the Hindi film industry, people work at a very fast pace. They're focused on efficiency and want to complete the work quickly. The environment is dynamic and moves rapidly from one scene to the next."
"Whereas in the South Indian film industries, the approach is completely different," she continued. "They are very chill and relaxed to work with. I get substantially more time to rehearse and truly immerse myself in my character. South Indian filmmakers are absolute perfectionists - unless they get a scene exactly right, they simply don't move forward."
An Enriching Bicultural Experience
Shivangi described her experience working in both industries as profoundly enriching. "I genuinely love working in both cinematic worlds," she shared enthusiastically. "I get to experience the fast-paced, energetic life of Hindi cinema while simultaneously enjoying the methodical, detail-oriented approach of South Indian filmmaking. They deliberately go slower with things because they fundamentally believe in achieving perfection in every frame."
Overcoming Language Barriers with Support
Addressing the inevitable language challenges faced by actors working across linguistic boundaries, Shivangi was remarkably candid. "It's very difficult to work in languages that aren't your mother tongue," she admitted. "But what's wonderful about the South Indian film industries is that they always help new talent. They provide extensive support in terms of prompting and helping actors learn their dialogues properly."
She added with humility: "So while I'm not very good with the languages yet, I'm actively learning and improving with each project. The collaborative environment makes this learning process much more manageable."
Expanding South Indian Filmography
Shivangi Verma also revealed details about her expanding portfolio in South Indian cinema. "I've recently shot for Tamil projects and completed work on a Malayalam horror film," she disclosed. "Additionally, I have a Kannada project that's releasing tomorrow. The response I'm receiving from South Indian audiences has been absolutely beautiful and overwhelmingly positive."
Her experience highlights the growing integration between India's various film industries and how actors are successfully navigating multiple cinematic cultures while appreciating their distinct approaches to filmmaking.
