Siddhant Chaturvedi Opens Up About Personal Connection to His Latest Film Role
Mumbai-based actor Siddhant Chaturvedi recently shared heartfelt insights about his upcoming film "Do Deewane Seher Mein", revealing how his character's linguistic struggles mirror his own experiences growing up in Uttar Pradesh. The Balia-born star, who portrays a marketing executive grappling with pronunciation issues, found the role deeply relatable due to his background.
Drawing from Real-Life Language Challenges
During a media interaction in Mumbai, Chaturvedi explained how his character's difficulty with words containing "sh" sounds resonated with him personally. "I come from UP and my mother till today pronounces 'bhagwan sankar' and Akshay Kumar as 'Aksay Kumar'. So this was personal as it has been a problem for me," the actor confessed, speaking in a mix of Hindi and Bhojpuri that delighted the audience.
He elaborated on his initial struggles when he first arrived in Mumbai, stating, "I initially struggled with it a lot when I first came to Mumbai. It took me five-six years to speak in Hindi, I used to talk in Bhojpuri." This language barrier, he emphasized, extends beyond regional boundaries, affecting people from various parts of India including Bihar, Northeast, Nepal, and Rajasthan.
Character Details and Personal Anecdotes
In the film, Chaturvedi plays a marketing executive who experiences nervousness before meetings, particularly when presentations involve words he finds challenging to pronounce. His character's romantic interest is named 'Roshni', while his own character is named 'Shashank'—both words that pose pronunciation difficulties for him.
The actor shared a charming personal story about how language played a role in his early romantic life: "The first girl I liked came from Chennai and her English was great, so I learned some for her. But this issue with 'sh' and 's', I struggled with it a lot in the beginning."
